How Google Makes Money?

Needless to say, this technology does not come free, and many internet users wonder how Google makes money for providing the latest technology search experience for its end-users.
Believe or not, but, 97% of Google’s revenue is generated by the Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertisements.
PPC, according to Wikipedia, is an internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, in which advertisers pay the publisher (typically a website owner) when the ad is clicked. It is defined simply as “the amount spent to get an advertisement clicked”.
For a PPC ad to be displayed on a webpage, a keyword search shall be matched with advertiser’s keyword(s) particularly defined for that ad. Google refers to these keywords as ‘Adwords’.
